Navigation: Concientización → Academia → Cursos
In the side menu, go to Concientización → Academia → Cursos. You'll reach the Course List, where the Whalemate catalog and your company's own courses coexist. Click Nuevo, at the top right: a two-step wizard opens.
Step 1 — Basic course information
Fill in the five fields. All are mandatory:
Title: the name your people see.
Subtitle: complementary text, up to 250 characters.
Description: summary of the content or purpose.
Language: Spanish, English, or Portuguese. It comes preselected with your company's main language.
Course image: drag it into the box or click to browse for it on your device. Formats: JPG, PNG, or WEBP.
Click Siguiente to move on to the sections, or Cancelar to exit without creating the course.
Step 2 — Course sections
Click Agregar sección (top right; the bar stays fixed as you scroll). If you don't have any yet, the button also appears in the center of the screen.
Choose the content type. The section opens expanded and you fill it in right there, without leaving the screen:
Video — "Video summary". Upload a file or paste a link. Only YouTube or Vimeo links, or videos uploaded from there, are supported; with any other source the section warns that it's not supported.
Reading — "Written lesson". A text editor with headings, lists, quotes, links, code blocks, and the ability to insert images —from your organization's Media Library or by uploading them from your device— and videos within the text.
Quiz — "Knowledge assessment". At least one question, each with its answers and exactly one marked as correct.
In each section, the Title is mandatory; the Subtitle and Description are optional.
Save each section when you finish it. Saved sections appear as collapsed rows that you can reopen to edit them.
Reorder the sections by dragging them. The order of the list is the order in which your people go through the course.
To delete one, use the row action and confirm in the dialog.
When everything is ready, click Guardar. The message "Course saved successfully" appears and you return to the Course List. The Atrás button takes you back to the first step.
The course needs at least one section. If you try to save without any, the screen warns: "Add at least one section before saving the course."
Watch out for unsaved sections. If you're editing a section and save the course, the message "You have unsaved sections" appears: if you continue with Save the course anyway, those changes are not included. The same happens if you move to another section with pending changes: the platform asks if you want to discard them.
While you work, what you enter is saved in your browser. If you leave the screen and come back during the same session, the wizard resumes at the step you were on, with the data and sections you had loaded.
The only exception is the course image: it can't be kept, so if you left before saving, the wizard takes you back to the first step so you can upload it again. When you save the course —or cancel— the saved progress is cleared.
The courses your company created are managed from the Custom Courses screen, which shows only your own: each card's menu has Editar and Eliminar.
To get there, go to create a new course (Cursos → Nuevo) and use the Custom Courses link in the breadcrumbs, above the form.
How do I identify my custom courses?
They're in the same Course List as the Whalemate catalog. To see only your own, open Filtros and turn on the Personalizado switch.
What types of content can I upload?
Video (your own file, or a YouTube or Vimeo link), formatted text with images, videos and code blocks, and multiple-choice quizzes.
Can I save the course half-finished and continue later?
Not as a partially publishable draft: the course needs at least one section to be saved, and once saved it's published. What the platform does do is keep your progress as long as you don't close the browser session, and once saved you can keep editing it whenever you want.
Can an already published course be edited?
Yes, at any time, from Editar on the Custom Courses screen. The changes apply to the course your people already have assigned.
Can I have the same course in several languages?
Yes, but as separate courses: each course has only one language and there's no feature that generates the translated version. You need to create another course and choose the other language. Keep in mind that the Course List filters by language.
Can I assign the course to an active campaign?
Yes. Once saved, it's available in the course selectors for campaigns and learning paths, just like those from the catalog.
