Synchronize users and groups directly from Google Workspace.
Avoid manually uploading employees into Whalemate.
Control when and how the synchronization is executed (manual or automatic).
Detect errors or expired tokens and resolve them easily.
Monitor recent changes (additions, removals, updates).
View synchronization logs to audit which users were modified, added, or deleted in each process.
Go to the module Settings → Integrations → Google Workspace.
If the integration is not yet activated, click on “Connect with Google” and grant the requested permissions. You will also need to select the groups and users you wish to synchronize.
Once activated, you will be able to view the following information:
Synchronization status
Date and time of the last update
Summary of results (additions, removals, updates).
You will also have available actions for the integration
Manual Synchronization: requires execution whenever you want to update the payroll
Pause automatic synchronization: stops the recurring sync (can be resumed).
Delete integration: completely disconnects Google Workspace and you will need to set up the integration again from the beginning.
The integration panel now displays a table with the historical synchronization logs.
There you can check:
What changes were applied (additions, removals, updates).
The result of each operation (success or error).
The origin of the change (manual synchronization, automatic, or SCIM integration).
These records make it easy to audit the integration's behavior and detect possible incidents or inconsistencies between systems.
What happens if the Google token expired?
A message will be displayed indicating that the integration must be re-authenticated. Only the administrator can do this from the “Connect again” button.
Can I pause automatic synchronization without deleting the integration?
Yes. When paused, automatic synchronization is temporarily stopped. You can resume it at any time.
What is the difference between manual and automatic synchronization?
Manual: only runs when requested by the administrator.
Automatic: synchronization occurs on a scheduled basis every 24 hours.
Where can I see the synchronization logs?
On the same integration screen, at the end of the main block, within the “Synchronization History” section.
What permissions does the Google Workspace integration request?
Permissions are requested to read the list of users and groups from the Google Workspace domain, without accessing sensitive personal information.
Note: If your integration is showing errors, don't hesitate to contact the Customer Experience team
